Northeast Indiana’s COVID-19 numbers end the week in much the same place as they began it: a 7-day positivity rate under 5 percent, with continuing declines in hospitalizations and fatalities.
Allen County saw 99 new cases reported on Friday, and one new death, according to county health department data.
That brings Allen County’s total of COVID-19 positive cases to 36,573, and 649 deaths.
The county’s 7-day positivity rate is at 4.7 percent.
All but five northeast Indiana counties have the “safest” scores for COVID-19 spread, according to the Indiana Department of Health.
All area counties did see new positive cases reported on Friday. Hospitalizations are down to 39, and only 2.8 percent of northeast Indiana’s ICU beds are occupied by COVID-19 patients.
Statewide, the 7-day positivity rate is at 3.1 percent, and there are 608 hospitalized COVID-19 patients.
Northeast Indiana totals for March 12:
- Adams County: 1 new case for 3,286 total. No new deaths for 50 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.3%.

- DeKalb County: 3 new cases for 3,933 total. No new deaths for 77 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.7%.
- Huntington County: 19 new cases for 3,549 total. No new deaths for 78 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.9%.
- Kosciusko County: 7 new cases for 8,631 total. No new deaths for 112 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2%.
- LaGrange County: 1 new case for 2,431 total. No new deaths for 70 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.9%.
- Noble County: 7 new cases for 5,155 total. 1 new death for 79 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.3%.
- Steuben County: 2 new cases for 3,418 total. No new deaths for 57 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.2%.
- Wabash County: 7 new cases for 3,352 total. 1 new death for 77 total 7-day positivity rate at 2.5%.
- Wells County: 11 new cases for 2,626 total. No new deaths for 78 total. 7-day positivity rate at 1.7%.
- Whitley County: 4 new cases for 3,546 total. No new deaths for 39 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.3%.
