March 24: More Northeast Indiana Counties In The "Blue"

Screenshot of the Indiana Department of Health

As Indiana inches ever closer to the end of COVID-19 pandemic restrictions, numbers around the state and its northeast corner stayed largely the same on Wednesday.

While 7-day positivity rates in some area counties worsened, the numbers of cases per 100,000 residents improved so that a few additional northeast Indiana counties entered the “blue” category for COVID-19 safety.

Adams, DeKalb, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble and Wabash counties are now all in the state’s best category for COVID-19.

The remaining counties in the region remain in the “yellow”, the state’s second-best category for the spread of the illness.

However, the area’s 7-day positivity rate stands at 5.2 percent. Hospitalizations are up to 45, still well below the numbers a month ago.

Statewide, the 7-day positivity rate is at 3.3 percent, and there are 584 Hoosiers hospitalized with the virus.

The percentages of area counties that are fully vaccinated inched up again on Wednesday.
