Two new deaths due to COVID-19 were reported on Thursday in northeast Indiana, one each in DeKalb and Huntington counties.
There were 142 new positive cases reported.
As Indiana passed a milestone of more than 1 million Hoosiers vaccinated, the numbers of those in the area who have received a full dose of the various COVID-19 vaccines continued to go up.
Only LaGrange County has less than 10 percent of its population fully vaccinated. Steuben County has the area’s highest total, at 20 percent.
Most area counties have between 11 to 17 percent fully vaccinated, according to the Indiana Department of Health.
There were 51 area residents hospitalized with the illness, and statewide that number has inched up to 627.
Northeast Indiana’s positivity rate for the past seven days stands at 5.1 percent, which is down .3 of a percent from Wednesday.
The state’s 7-day positivity rate is at 3.3 percent.
Northeast Indiana totals for March 25:
- Adams County: 2 new cases for 3,314 total. No new deaths for 51 total. 7-day positivity at 2.9%. There is 13.2% of county fully vaccinated.
- Allen County: 87 new cases for 37,439 total. No new deaths for 658 total. 7-day positivity rate 5.9%. There is 13.3% of county fully vaccinated.
- DeKalb County: 5 new cases for 3,985 total. 1 new death for 78 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.2%. There is 13.4% of county fully vaccinated.
- Huntington County: 10 new cases for 3,648 total.1 new death for 79 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.2%. There is 17.6% of county fully vaccinated.
- Kosciusko County: 5 new cases for 8,759 total. No new deaths for 112 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.9%. There is 11.3% of county fully vaccinated.
- LaGrange County: 2 new cases for 2,456 total. No new deaths for 70 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.4%. There is 8.6% of county fully vaccinated.
- Noble County: 6 new cases for 5,218 total. No new deaths for 79 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.7%. There is 12.7% of county fully vaccinated.
- Steuben County: 2 new cases for 3,474 total. No new deaths for 57 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.7%. There is 20% of county fully vaccinated.
- Wabash County: 2 new cases for 3,392 total. No new deaths for 77 total. 7-day positivity rate at 3.8%. There is 16.3% of county fully vaccinated.
- Wells County: 14 new cases for 2,723. No new deaths for 79 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6%. There is 15.2% of county fully vaccinated.
- Whitley: 8 new cases for 3,611 total. No new deaths for 40 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.1%. There is 16.2% of county fully vaccinated.
