Sept. 14: Six New COVID Deaths In Area

Six new COVID-19 deaths were reported in northeast Indiana on Tuesday, including three in Allen County and two in Steuben County.

 

The area’s 7-day positivity rate has fallen a tad, and is now down to 11.1 percent, and 355 new cases were reported on Tuesday, according to the Indiana Department of Health.

 

The sixth death reported in the area was in Huntington County.

 

Whitley and DeKalb counties remain in the state’s worst category for COVID spread, based on cases per 100,000 and 7-day positivity rates. DeKalb County’s 7-day positivity rate is at 14.3 percent, and Whitley’s is at 13.6 percent.

 

Statewide, there were 3,580 new cases reported, and 91 deaths.

 

On Monday, the state moved past 900,000 cases of COVID since the beginning of the pandemic, roughly 13 percent of the state’s population.

 

The state’s 7-day positivity rate is up to 11.8 percent. Nearly 5,600 Hoosiers became fully vaccinated on Monday.

 

Northeast Indiana totals for Sept. 14:

  • Adams County: 14 new cases for 4,336 total. No new deaths for 65 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.8%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 37.5%.
  • Allen County: 177 new cases for 52,061 total. 3 new deaths for 745 total. 7-day positivity rate at 11.4%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 55.5%.
  • DeKalb County: 17 new cases for 5,527 total. No new deaths for 91 total. 7-day positivity rate at 14.3%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 42.5%.
  • Huntington County: 21 new cases for 5,845 total. 1 new death for 90 total. 7-day positivity rate at 8.9%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 47%.
  • Kosciusko County: 27 new cases for 11,066 total. No new deaths for 134 total. 7-day positivity rate at 13.3%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 42.2%.
  • LaGrange County: 13 new cases for 3,095 total. No new deaths for 74 total. 7-day positivity rate at 14.4%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 25.2%.
  • Noble County: 28 new cases for 7,161 total. No new deaths for 99 total. 7-day positivity rate at 12.1%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 41.1%.
  • Steuben County: 12 new cases for 4,779 total. 2 new deaths for 66 total. 7-day positivity rate at 9.4%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 46.3%.
  • Wabash County: 10 new cases for 4,686 total. No new deaths for 91 total. 7-day positivity rate at 10.1%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 41.5%.
  • Wells County: 16 new cases for 3,719 total. No new deaths for 83 total. 7-day positivity rate at 10.6%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 43.4%.
  • Whitley County: 20 new cases for 5,071 total. No new deaths for 51 total. 7-day positivity rate at 13.6%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 45.7%.
