Nov. 11: COVID-19 Positivity rates up in region

There were 539 new COVID-19 cases reported in northeast Indiana, and two counties are back in the state’s worst categories for community spread.

 

LaGrange and DeKalb counties are both in the red, the state’s worst category based on 7-day positivity rate and cases per 100,000 residents.

 

The rest of the area is in the “orange” or second-worst category.

 

Four deaths were reported, including two in Allen County, and one each in LaGrange and Noble counties, according to the Indiana Department of Health.

 

There were 183 area residences hospitalized due to the virus. The area’s 7-day positivity rate is up to 9.8 percent.

 

Statewide, the 7-day positivity rate is at 8.2 percent and there are 1,298 reported hospitalizations.

 

Northeast Indiana totals:

  • Adams County: 18 new cases for 5,072 total. No new deaths for 79 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.6%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 34.4%.
  • Allen County: 231 new cases for 60,791 total. 2 new deaths for 838 total. 7-day positivity rate at 9.3%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 52.1%.
  • DeKalb County: 70 new cases for 6,793 total. No new deaths for 102 total. 7-day positivity rate at 15.9%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 40.8%.
  • Huntington County: 35 new cases for 6,768 total. No new deaths for 101 total. 7-day positivity rate at 9.7%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 45.1%.
  • Kosciusko County: 57 new cases for 13,003 total. No new deaths for 154 total. 7-day positivity rate at 10.8%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 40.4%.
  • LaGrange County: 12 new cases for 3,858 total. 1 new death for 88 total. 7-day positivity rate at 21.9%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 22.8%.
  • Noble County: 32 new cases for 8,434 total. 1 new death for 113 total. 7-day positivity rate at 12.2%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 39.3%.
  • Steuben County: 34 new cases for 5,983 total. No new deaths for 79 total. 7-day positivity rate at 8.6%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 44.6%.
  • Wabash County: 18 new cases for 5,609 total. No new deaths for 106 total. 7-day positivity rate at 8.7%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 40.2%.
  • Wells County: 11 new cases for 4,401 total. No new deaths for 91 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.3%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 41.1%.
  • Whitley County: 71 new cases for 59,35 total. No new deaths for 59 total. 7-day positivity rate at 10.5%. Eligible population fully vaccinated 44%.
