More than 2,000 new COVID-19 cases were reported throughout Indiana over the weekend, according to the Indiana State Department of Health.

One hundred and four of those cases were found in Allen County, which currently has a seven-day positivity rate of about nine percent. Allen County reports 174 deaths due to the illness.

DeKalb County remains active for COVID-19, with a seven-day positivity rate of about 15 percent, and 16 new cases reported from Friday and Saturday, according to the state’s statistics.

The highest percentage of DeKalb County’s cases are in the 40-49 age group, and the county has a total of 331 known cases of COVID-19.

However, throughout most of northeast Indiana, those ages 50-59 make up northeast Indiana’s largest age group affected by COVID-19, according to the Indiana Department of Health.

With 19.4 percent of the cases throughout the region found in residents in their 50s, that group just inched ahead of those between the ages of 20-29, which account for 19 percent of all cases.
