Officers from the Allen County Sheriff’s Department found four individuals dead inside a northwest county home Monday night after responding to a report of gunshots.

According to the Allen County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday, three of the individuals were killed by homicide, and the fourth by suicide. All four were pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

Fifty-year-old Mark Long, his wife Lisa Renee Long, 45, and their 15-year-old daughter Mahala had been shot to death.

Also found inside the house was the body of 20-year-old Samuel Mason Long. His death was due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Another individual inside the home was helped to safety by police when they arrived, according to a release from the Allen County Sheriff’s Department Monday night.

While the shootings remain under investigation, police do not believe there is any additional danger to the public, according to the release.

The Allen County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Indiana State Police.
