Fort Wayne Community Schools and the local teacher’s union presented a tentative two-year contract to the school board on Monday.

The contract covers July 1 of this year through June 30, 2023 and would include a 4 percent raise to salaries in each year. By the end of the contract years, the salary range will be $43,998 to $77,330.

The contract also includes increased curriculum development, continuing to compensate teachers for additional classroom coverage to help manage substitute shortage and increased stipends for co-curricular and athletic positions.

It also adds new co-curricular positions like eSports, Special Olympics and other sports and music coaches and directors.

The board will hold another meeting on the contract next month which will be open to public comment.
