The United Automobile Workers announced over the weekend it had reached a tentative agreement with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. It follows negotiations the union has had with automotive companies General Motors and Ford Motor Company.

Indiana is home to Fiat Chrysler Automobile plants in Kokomo and Tipton, according to the company's website.

The UAW says the third and final contract negotiations appear to be in the final stretch.

The proposed four-year contract with FCA would add about 8,000 new jobs while doubling previously announced investments to a total of $9 billion.

The negotiations come at a time when both groups face scrutiny with a corruption probe into the UAW and GM filing a racketeering lawsuit against FCA.

If the UAW Fiat Chrysler National Council approves the tentative agreement Wednesday, rank and file members will begin voting later this week.
