Two More COVID Deaths In Allen County, State Sets Record

Two additional Allen County residents have died from COVID-19, bringing the total to 209.

Another 95 confirmed and probable cases have been reported, bringing the total of COVID-19 cases in northeast Indiana’s largest county to 6,965, according to the Allen County Health Department.

And Indiana blew by its previous record for COVID-19 cases, with 1,832 cases reported Friday from Thursday. It is the second record-setting day in a row.

Nineteen new deaths were reported as well, according to the Indiana State Department of Health.

ICU beds in use for COVID-19 patients again increased statewide. Hospitalizations were up to 1,187, the highest total since late May.

Double-digit positive case increases were reported in almost all northeast Indiana counties, and nine more were reported in Adams County. 

 

New case totals for northeast Indiana:

  • Adams County--nine new, 341 total
  • Allen County--95 new, 6,965 total
  • DeKalb County--17 new, 599 total
  • Huntington County--11 new, 316 total
  • Kosciusko County--13 new, 1,448
  • LaGrange County--four new, 691 total
  • Noble County--11 new, 981 total
  • Steuben County--14 new, 465 total
  • Wabash County--eight new, 304 total
  • Wells County--seven new, 312 total
  • Whitley County--four new, 348 total
