Since 2007, 89.1 WBOI has partnered with the Fort Wayne Museum of Art to create a radio series that features the top five works of writing titled the American Voice Nominees for the Annual Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. This partnership has been highlighted at the National Awards Ceremony at Carnegie Hall every year since 2008.
This partnership helps motivate students to achieve and to see their creativity applied and celebrated within our community. In addition, the Northeast Indiana-Northwest Ohio Region has placed in the top four out of 130 regions each of the past three years.
This success has raised the profile of regional students’ work and is a catalyst for students from across our region being awarded over 1 million dollars in scholarships each of the past 8 years. WBOI is proud to collaborate with the Museum of Art to encourage students’ creativity and aspirations.
