WBOI News Earns Website, Public Affairs Awards from AP

WBOI News won two awards in the 2015 Indiana Associated Press Broadcasters Awards competition recognizing excellence in journalism. The winners were announced at a ceremony Saturday in Indianapolis.

The awards:

First Place

"Best Website (Metro Radio)" - Sean Bueter, Virginia Alvino, Katy Anderson

Second Place

"Best Public Affairs Program (Metro Radio)" - Sean Bueter, Virginia Alvino, Katy Anderson

The award for public affairs programming recognized WBOI's Issues & Ales for its "Impact of the Arts" show, held last October. The hour-long panel discussion is part of the station's popular live event series meant to engage listeners in discussions on important community issues.
