Director, Rae Surface enjoyed the luxury of collaborating with the playwright, and finessing the variety of humorous elements of the story.

Besides an assortment of interesting characters, a clever plot, and a wide variety of comedy styles and elements, the production also includes an original song by Rousculp, that is pivotal to the story line, called "Let's Paint the Town," featuring Kat Bowser.

It is an uplifting song about talking someone out of suicide, and he has committed a percentage of the royalties to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline for the lifetime of the song.

To learn how David's dual professions of playwright and funeral director drove this creative endeavor, WBOI's Julia Meek sat down with him, and the play's director, Rae Surface, to discuss how a slapstick look at accidentgally bringing a dead clown back to life can lead to an unforgettable lesson in hope and redemption.
