Northeast Indiana is seeing a rise in all categories of COVID-19 activity, with around 20 percent of the deaths reported in the state on Tuesday.

According to the Indiana Department of Health, the region also had 12 percent of the state’s newly reported cases.

There were 522 new cases reported in the area on Tuesday and 23 new deaths. Only Adams, LaGrange and Whitley counties did not report any additional COVID deaths Tuesday.

Thirteen deaths were reported in Allen County, along with 267 cases.

The area’s hospitalization numbers were up at their highest since the summer Delta surge, with 297 area residents in the hospital.

Statewide, there are 2,203 residents hospitalized with the illness.

In response to rising COVID numbers, Indiana’s WorkOne offices will be transitioning to appointment-only services beginning Wednesday, according to a release issued Tuesday.
