End Times Spasm Band Updates a Horror Classic with New Music

This Friday evening, Fort Wayne Cinema Center is presenting the first of a three-part silent film series with a one-time showing of Nosferatu, F.W. Murnau's classic 1922 adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula.

What makes these screenings special is that each boasts an original musical score composed and performed live by a local band, and Nosferatu will be hitting whole new heights of horror thanks to the efforts of the End Times Spasm Band.

Tonight's show is sold out, but Cinema Center's director Jonah Crismore is hopeful that a repeat performance is on the horizon.

Eager to take a peek behind the scenes of such an ambitious project, WBOI's Julia Meek invited band members Lyndsy Rae and Bart Helms to the Madge Rothschild Studios to discuss its challenges and rewards.

For more information on this event and Cinema Center's upcoming shows featuring live bands, check out the organization's website.

And more on the End Times Spasm Band can be found at the group's Facebook page.
