Northeast Indiana COVID-19 Positivity Rate Consistently Over 5 Percent

Allen County saw another COVID-19 death Thursday, bringing the total to 207.

Forty-seven more residents have tested positive, bringing that total to 6,474.

The state of Indiana again saw its positive test count jump over a thousand, with 1,171 new cases of the illness reported Wednesday into Thursday. Thirteen additional Hoosiers have died.

The cumulative positivity rate is just over 4 percent, under the threshold of 5 percent deemed by the World Health Organization to be “too high.”

Every county in northeast Indiana reported additional cases on Thursday, and only Wells, Wabash, Adams and Huntington counties show positivity rates below 5 percent.

The state’s coronavirus dashboard now contains a page for school test results, showing the positive test results for students, teachers, and staff at schools around the state.

Nearly 1,150 schools, particularly private schools, have not reported their coronavirus status to state health officials.
