Lawmakers discussed redistricting during Tuesday's Organization Day, but ultimately defied Trump's order to pass new maps.

Governor Mike Braun on Monday said lawmakers "must show up for work" to redraw the state's legislative maps.

Gov. Mike Braun’s executive order prompted the end of multiple education initiatives and the removal of DEI‑related content from both K‑12 and higher‑education systems.

On Monday, Gov. Mike Braun removed all three IU trustees elected by alumni and replaced two of them with polarizing and well-known conservatives Jim Bopp and Sage Steele.

The fundraising efforts came after funding for the program was removed from the Indiana state budget.

“Education is a state and local responsibility,” Indiana Gov. Mike Braun said. “I support President Trump’s bold action to return education to where it belongs and to put parents in the driver’s seat of their children’s education.”
