Northwest Allen County Schools’ Maple Creek Middle School is going online for the week of Oct. 12 through Oct. 15 due to an outbreak of COVID-19.

Students were already scheduled to be out of school on Oct. 16.

Along with the outbreak at Maple Creek Middle School, other districts in northeast Indiana are reporting to their families about the need to quarantine students, teachers, staff and administrators.

Such has been the case at Prairie Heights Community Schools in LaGrange County. The LaGrange County positivity rate is over 11 percent, and nearly 40 new cases have been reported in the past week.

Indiana reported 1,581 new cases Monday, and a positivity rate of 5.3 percent.

Allen County reported 48 new cases, with 7,189 total. Kosciusko County reported 35 new cases, with DeKalb County reporting 25 new cases.

Adams County reported 20 new cases, and Noble County 15.
