AEP's grant, along with others, come months after the state cuts eliminated 50-percent of the funding for the free book literacy program.

Via IPB News: Former Gov. Eric Holcomb funded half of the program’s statewide expansion with $6 million in state funding in 2023. Gov. Mike Braun announced in February his administration would eliminate that support.

After losing state funding, the library is working to keep the early literacy program going through private donations.

The fundraising efforts came after funding for the program was removed from the Indiana state budget.

The Allen County Public Library is partnering with the Clyde Theatre throughout April to raise funds and awareness for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program.
