Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth spoke at Purdue Fort Wayne at the 4th-Annual Northeast Indiana Defense Summit, an event put on by Sen. Jim Banks.

The movement drew millions around the world to more than 2,700 events protesting the actions of the Trump administration. Protests around the area are growing in size.

Building on the momentum from the protests in June, organizers believe millions will turn out in the more than 2,600 events scheduled nationwide.

As parts of the protests, organizers gathered donations for area food pantries and charities.

The day of action was part of a nationwide movement protesting the actions of the Trump administration.

From our friends at WFYI: The rally was a response to the 12 countries President Donald Trump put a travel ban on that went into effect that morning. Those countries include Afghanistan, Myanmar, Iran, Chad and Haiti. Additional countries such as Cuba and Venezuela now have heightened restrictions.

The demonstrations are part of an ongoing protest of the current presidential administration.

Protesters gathered in front of the Allen County Courthouse on Saturday for a day of action.

The coordinated protests Saturday were part of a national day of action with peaceful protests around the country targeting President Trump and others in elected office.

The 50501 movement focused on developing 50 protests in 50 states on one day, in opposition to the actions of President Donald Trump.
