Prosecutors say witness statements and the viral video of the fight leading up to the death of 75-year-old Anita Ann Grayson showed the employee involved in the fight acted in self defense. Grayson's death was attributed to an existing heart condition.

The man had been reportedly suffering from a mental health episode, and police had responded to the home in the 1800 block of Howell Avenue multiple times in recent days.

Long-time officer P.J. Smith was sworn in Thursday. The former chief, Scott Caudill, resigned effective immediately.

Update: The Allen County Coroner's Office has identified the man shot and killed by police. The officer is now recovering at home.Police were responding to a domestic disturbance call when an officer was attacked by a suspect and stabbed. Other officers fatally shot the suspect.

Patricia Hepworth was shot by FWPD officers last week after the Indiana DOC parole officers tried to serve her with a warrant and she barricaded herself inside her apartment.

As the Fort Wayne Police Department investigates two officer-involved shootings from July, it released the names and records of the officers involved.
