Councilwoman Rohli Booker introduced new ordinances that will create an advisory committee to look at "resource-intensive developments, as well as one that would put a year-long moratorium on new data center construction.

The donation is part of a $10 million gift from the company throughout the state to support water and infrastructure.

Councilman Russ Jehl pulled two of his three resolutions that he said would increase accountability around the data center. The third resolution to establish a "quality of life" task force was tabled until July.

The Republican councilman voted for Project Zodiac in 2023, but has introduced three ordinances purportedly to increase accountability.

The permit approval brings the total of massive diesel generators on the site to up over 175.
