Seniors and juniors at New Tech Academy are spending the semester discussing government and how it affects them as they gear up to meet with local candidates later this month.

Earlier this week, the school invited students and parents to come pick up their schedules and find their lockers.

After a pilot program seemed to show a positive impact, the Fort Wayne Community Schools board voted to expand the use of Yondr cell phone pouches to all secondary schools in the district.

The program is an approach to nonviolence developed by Alive Outreach that encourages students to help create change in their schools.

Most of the package -$30 million - will go to the new complex.

Antonette Payne replaces Rohli Booker in the FWCS' 4th District

Antonette Payne will be sworn in next week.

The seat was previously held by now-City Council member Rohli Booker.

Families are asked to bring and share food from their cultures and enjoy cultural entertainment, while getting to know each other.

The 'Say Their Names' exhibits encourages students to choose and research an event or person in Black history and create art about them.
